Movable feed bins

Jacky Bins USA introduces its movable feed bins, suitable for feed storage for livestock.
The 1,000 L Jacky Bin can provide additional support by providing a method of portable storage for granular feed while protecting the contents from weather, unwanted pests and animals.

The bins are made of a food-grade polymer with ultra-smooth interior, with a galvanized steel frame providing years of use in harsh conditions. The bins have a large 35-cubic-foot (ft.) capacity and can contain approximately 1,500 pounds (lb.). The stainless steel/poly discharge hatch mechanism is at an angle for easy use and discharge no matter how full or empty the bin.

The bins have fully enclosed fork truck pockets and translucent walls that make it easy to assess product level without removing the lid. The bins have a fully removable lid that is easy to slide, making the bin easy to fill and clean. The bins measure 4 ft. wide by 4 ft. deep, and are 5 ft. 9 inches (in.) high. Imported from Australia, where they have shown years of success in the agricultural and farming industries, the company expects the bins to be as useful and successful in the United States, as well.

Customizable soil inoculant

HPC Acquisitions Inc., doing business as Vegalab US, a biotech company focused on delivering biological pesticides and natural fertilizers using its proprietary micronization and nanotechnology, announced that it has added Myco BioBoost, a highly concentrated and customizable mycorrhizal fungus soil inoculant, to its product line.

Myco BioBoost’s proprietary water-soluble mycorrhizae are manufactured in powder form with 82 propagules per gram, one of the highest concentrations of propagules in the market for a solid product. The mycorrhizae are obtained in vitro, which guarantees an exact spore count. In addition, the process is completely sterile; problems of contamination with other organisms are eliminated.

Mycorrhizae symbiotically bond to the roots of a plant, growing on and expanding the root’s overall surface area. This increases the root system’s ability to absorb water and nutrients. The protective coating of beneficial fungi shields the root zone from pathogens and feeds off of the starch exudates excreted from the plant’s roots. In exchange, the mycorrhizal colony provides a bioavailable phosphorus plant food.

The company’s eco-compatible fungi can be customized by crop or country, which ensures that the selected fungus is adapted to local environmental conditions. Myco BioBoost has received EPA registration and is available for purchase.

Maneuverable tractors

John Deere has introduced its new 5R Series Tractors that leverage existing technologies normally found in large tractors to provide customers with unrivaled maneuverability, an easy-to-use transmission, increased visibility, loader integration and operator comfort.
A 7.4-ft. wheelbase paired with a 60° steering angle provides a tight turning radius of 12.1 ft. Customers working in confined areas such as barns will be able to easily maneuver in tight areas, increasing their productivity.

Shifting is virtually effortless with two fully electronic transmission options, CommandQuad™ Manual and Command8™. Using a multi-range selection, the operator can toggle from B range through D range without stopping. Base equipment also includes AutoClutchT™, leveraged from the company’s larger row-crop tractors, which means no clutching is ever necessary. The operator steps on the brake and the clutch automatically disengages.

Upward visibility has been improved 80% through the Premium Panorama cab roof, compared to a John Deere 5M Tractor with the Premium cab. Forward visibility is 7% better thanks to a single-piece front windshield, making it ideal for loader applications.

Six halogen work lights (two front, two rear and two side) are included as standard equipment to improve visibility in low-light conditions. For maximum illumination, owners can choose to replace the halogen lights with optional factory- or field-installed LED lights.

A high-back swivel seat features thicker cushions and wider armrests than those found on John Deere 5M tractors. New to the utility tractor lineup, optional cab suspension provides a more comfortable ride for long work days.

The 5R can be equipped with the new John Deere 540R Loader. The loader’s automatic mast latch, single-point hydraulic connection, remote implement latch and slide-slung self-leveling links provide an integrated loader experience for the operator. Removal or installation of the loader can be accomplished with a single trip out of the cab, thanks to a latch system that automatically connects the loader once contact is made between the loader boom and mounting frames, simplifying the connection process.

To improve loader operation, a mechanical or electrohydraulic loader joystick option is integrated into the swivel seat. Gear-shift buttons and a joystick reverser are built into the loader joystick control.

Upgraded compact tractors

New Holland Agriculture has revitalized its product offering in 2017 with its new Boomer and Workmaster lineups complete with an all-new Boomer model, the Boomer 55. Each model is designed to provide more horsepower and includes Boomer Guard6, a warranty package for six-year worry-free operation, including two years of bumper-to-bumper coverage plus an additional four years of powertrain protection.

The company’s new line of tractors are designed to provide a roomy, no-clutter entry and exit, natural placement of controls and pedals, unmatched visibility, clean, fuel-efficient power, and simple maintenance.

The Boomer 55 delivers higher horsepower — 55 gross horsepower — without additional weight for maximum performance and productivity. In addition to accomplishing more in less time, the Boomer 55’s higher power-to-weight ratio translates into lower ground pressure to reduce compaction and turf damage.

The new Boomer lineup includes clean-running engines to handle the toughest jobs while saving fuel. The lineup also features a completely automatic emissions system and a high-capacity, dual-pump hydraulic system that provides fast-implement response and steering, along with Boomer Guard6, to provide peace of mind.

The new Workmaster lineup includes two rugged, economical compact tractors — 35 hp and 40 hp — offering more speed choices than competitive tractors, an emissions system that’s automatic, and high-capacity hydraulics to deliver a dedicated flow of 8.2 gallons per minute and a three-point hitch lift capacity of 1,807 pounds (lb.).

Workmaster tractors have a big-tractor backbone with heavy castings for the engine, transmission and rear axles. A cast-iron block, heavy-duty internal components and proven technology enables the new three-cylinder engines to deliver gutsy, fuel-efficient power.

The 2017 Boomer and Workmaster models, along with the all-new Boomer 55, will be available in the United States and Canada beginning in the spring of 2017.
